Eric Clutton's 1965 Sharkface

I've seen a few of these fly, back in the 70's, at my local flying field in Market Harborough Leics.  Toby Collis had several of them, as did my late father Bill.  Toby could make them sing and dance with either one or two radio channels, the original being designed for one channel (rudder) that was driven by a clockwork escapement, and controlled 'bang-bang' style by a button on a RC transmitter posibly superregen, or later 27 mhz 'Superhet' which allowed several models to fly simultaneously, controlled by an internal crystal, and denoted by a coloured flag.  I had an orange crystal by the way.

I had a Sharkface myself, but don't recall too much about it, except for the fact that it was covered in dayglo orange Nylon!

Anyhow, this version is 3/4 size, and is looking very cute.  don't let the cuteness lull you into a false sense of security though, it'll be a beast, or maybe a mini beast, but if I throw some fpv gear on it, maybe, just maybe I'll manage a few good flights.

It's also going to be electric powered, which is, I beleive, the way to go these days.  If you're interested in following my antics with this little marvel, I'm currently documenting the build on my forum, so rather than duplicate it all here, go over to:
